Recently I've been contemplating my true inner authoress. The part of me that loves words that make you think, that make you feel, that make you see colors, pictures, people, scenery. The wonder of how one minute a page can be completely blank, boring as a doorknob, and the next, it can be filled to the once-crisp edges with delightful words that can tell every kind of story. Anything you can imagine, if your mind can think it up, then it can be written. Sure, there are some things that take a great deal of thought to translate it from mind pictures to comprehensible words.
This love started when I was probably about 10, maybe even 11. Some kids can say "I've always loved books! I knew I wanted to be a writer for a long time!" But no. For years and years and years, basically up until the past two or three years, I never really thought of it as a job or a hobby, or even something I would love. Just the past few months, books have consumed me. I LOVE books. Fantasy books are now holding up space on my shelf, but not in vain. They have been read, and enjoyed, dare I say. I refused to let myself enjoy fantasy books with elves, dwarves, kings, queens, fallen cities, magical beings, and most of all, dragons. I can absolutely say that I did finish Eragon (for any of you who heard that I was going to start reading it and insisted that I would like it, I apologize for my skepticism). I liked it. :)
Although writing, books, and words have become a new fascination, one thing that does, and will always be special and give me a special feeling, is a white fluffy feather pen, or quill some might say, a old fashioned ink bottle, and a leather book, full of empty, crsip, slightly yellow, but still fresh pages.
The quote under my blog title basically sums up why I write. :)
So why, you ask, have I not written more? More of everything, more stories, poems, journal entries, blog entries, etc.
It all comes down to one word.
LAZINESS.
I am too lazy.
I just don't feel like sitting down and getting hand cramps from writing for hours, or even not that long. (I guess I have to admit, although I am a conditioned typist - yes, I kind of just made up that word for someone who types on a keyboard, and I'm not sure if it actually exists - writing for longer than 10 minutes gives me severe hand cramps. Lame, I know.) However! I intend to put that phrase to rest! I hope as of the next little while I will try to make that sentence in the brackets not true anymore.
(Aaaannnnddddd.......for some random reason I feel like say "Huzzah!". I hope I'm not turning into a weirdo, actually, I think I already am.....)
I am going to try and work extra super duper hard on my book this term, to try and finish it. But, the one thing that's holding me back from the story that I started (see, "My Story {in the works}"), is that I have to do research. Unlike stories where you make up every aspect of it, or you already know what you need to make it make sense and understandable. I hate doing research......urgh............except if the topic is something I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, like uh.......ooooo! Horses......I love doing research on horses. I could do it endlessly......welll.....not endlessly. But you get the idea.
Oh! one more thing before I go. I added a new page to my blog called "Words..." where I'm just going to put a bunch of words of inspiration and words I love. Go check it out! :) Words have been swirling around in my head and I have been a bit panicky to try and find an efficient way to keep track of them and record them. Alas, I came to the conclusion of making a page on my blog where I will continue to add and lengthen the list, and you can come for inspiration as well! Would it be better if I add the meaning of each word to the list? It will be no problem at all, and make it easier for you to use it if you like! :) What do you think?

By the way, this picture has nothing to do with this post, except that I just love it. ;)
