...it sheds light on a dark and cloudy world. It breaks through this forlorn coat of gray, (ooo! I'm gonna have to add "forlorn" to my list of words...) and scatters the puffy and white, or wispy and gray clouds into a place that can't be seen with the naked eye. Everything brightens.
I was walking along the road today, when suddenly, a sound broke through my thoughts. This sunshine was lifting my spirits and making the day seem a bit more cheery. A small, quiet, subtle, chirp. A bird, talking to her friends. A song. A happy little song. Is it even possible for a bird to make sad sounds? I mean, I know a crow or raven, or some kind of raptor or bird of prey can make a dreadful cawing noise that makes you want to clap your hands over your ears to drown out the irritating sound, but can a pretty, quaint, delicate little songbird, like a chickadee or a robin or a sparrow make an unhappy sound? Is it...possible?
So that's my snippet of writing today. I've realized that I am a writer at heart, and that a writer needs to write. :)
